We've all heard the phrase "God doesn't give us more than what we can handle."
I've never really thought that's true.
Sometimes I think that He allows things to happen in our lives to bring us closer to Him. Because no, we can't handle it in our own strength. No, we can't see the path ahead and where it leads. We can't find the way out. We need direction. We need light. We need Him to lead the way.
What does that look like? I'm not sure that it looks like anything in particular. Most of all, it's about surrender. Letting go. Really letting go and letting God move in our lives in our hearts, letting Him extract the things in our lives that don't need to be there, and replacing them with what's best for us.
Easier said than done, sure. But what's the alternative? The longer I'm on this earth the more I realize that I need God. I don't want to do this without Him. I need His grace, His mercy, His truth, His love, and His redemption. There is no alternative for me.
Thank you for this post. It is really all about surrender, isn't it? Allowing God to be God and us getting out of the way!
